Here's how it works:
PHASE 1 - Online Home Design Workshop
All projects start with an online Home Design Workshop, via zoom, when we’ll explore your needs, desires and lifestyle to define and envision your revamped home.
You’ll receive at least one sketch design layout that you're truly excited about, personalized expert advice for your home and proposals, and a huge head start on your project.

Here's how the Home Design Workshop works:
- Click below to book your Home Design Workshop (all workshops take place on Tuesdays or Wednesdays)
- You’ll receive some preparation workbooks with videos to help you get the most from your workshop.
- We’ll come together at 10am for a vision clarity call, then again at 12pm for a collaborative design session. The calls will be via zoom
- During the workshop calls, you will need to be present to discuss your needs, desires, lifestyle and explore your options in a co-creation plan sketching session
- After our workshop I will redraw your sketch layouts, made during the session, so they are easy to read and send them to you by Friday that same week.

After your Home Design Workshop, you can continue working with me to implement your vision.
Here's what happens after a Home Design Workshop
PHASE 2 - The Plan
In this phase, we take your vision and our sketches from your Home Design Workshop and turn them into planning approval quality designs. If your project requires planning approval we will submit the application for you as part of this phase.
At the end of this 2-month stage, you’ll have a design for your home that you love and want to see built, that fits within your budget and that enhances your home inside and out.
I will give you all of the details about Phase 2 after your Home Design Workshop.

Investment for The Plan starts from £1,750
(made in 2 payments, 50% up front, 50% following the approval meeting)
PHASE 3 - The Build
This final design phase is where we get to have fun and start turning your dreams into reality. We'll ensure your project meets or exceeds building control standards and is ready to be built.
We're by your side to find dependable and efficient builders, and to put a contract in place to protect you and your property.
At the end of this 6-to-16-month process, your project will start to be built!

Investment for The Build starts from £4,710
(paid in four stages of 25% each, or with a monthly payment plan)
PHASE 4 - The Site
Once your contract is signed and the builders start to work we will continue to support you through the build. We'll be on-site regularly to inspect the work and help with design decisions until the project is finished.

I have spent the last 9 years as a principal architect working primarily with homeowners turning their homes into places they love.
Before setting up iarchitect in 2009, I worked as a senior architect in one of the top 5 largest international architecture practices, designing multi-million pound education projects. I bring the lessons learned on these large scale projects with specialist teams into my work for homeowners, delivering professional high quality designs and bringing together key specialist consultants where necessary to create the best solutions we can for your project. I'm highly qualified, experienced, and specialised with a place as a registrant on the RIBA conservation register and an eco-refurbisher on The Green Register. My homeowner clients have included couples at every stage of life, growing families, bachelors and bachelorettes, pet owners and hobbyists. Unlike the typical image of an archtect I'm female and don't wear all black clothes or round glasses, but I do love a good cup of coffee and sketching out ideas on tracing paper. |

plastic, then these services are not for you.

lovingly made coffee from an independent cafe served in a warm mug,
then chances are our approach will not chime with you.

Where will my Home Design Workshop take place?
Your Home Design Workshop will be online via zoom.
When do you hold the Home Design Workshops?
Workshops are available on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. You get your package of information, including your sketches and personalised fee proposal by that Friday to review over the weekend.
Can I just buy the Home Design Workshop?
Yes. There is no obligation to continue with the next stage after completion of the workshop. At the end of each phase you will have a package of information that you can use to take your project to the next phase and you can decide if you would like to continue working with me or implement the plan on your own.
Why do you start with a Home Design Workshop?
I have been helping homeowners since 2009 to create their ideal homes and have found that this is the quickest and most effective way to understand homeowners unique needs and create designs that meet, and I hope exceed, them. I have found that without a Home Design Workshop the initial design process can take months and even years of going back and forward with emails and meetings, which costs homeowners a lot more in time, effort and fees. A Home Design Workshop takes a single morning and gives an instant set of sketch plans.
What is a Home Design Workshop?
A Home Design Workshop is a morning spent with you, via zoom, assessing your property, your needs and aspirations, and exploring design options to create a home that will suit you. All the sketch plans are drawn alongside you so you can make sure you're happy with the design. I will then do some follow up work and email you a package of information including the sketch plans for up to 2 layout options.
How does a Home Design Workshop work?
Once you have booked your workshop date I will send you a confirmation email including workbooks to complete in preparation for your session. For the design workshop, Jane, chartered architect and founding director of iarchitect, will join you via zoom and we will:
- discuss what does and doesn't work for you
- discuss your needs and wishes to create a vision for your home
- assess your home, reviewing plans and photos that you provide
- sit together around a screen to explore designs together and create at least one layout option, and up to 3 variations, that will meet your requirements
- follow up with a package of information including to-scale hand-drawn plans and out recommended next steps to take your project forward
